Engineer Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, followed up on the implementation status of several projects and services in New Alamein City, along with work files at the city’s authority. She stressed the need to increase implementation rates and adhere to the specified schedules for completing the projects.
The Housing Minister emphasized the importance of intensifying work during the coming period, quickly completing residential and service projects, and delivering units to applicants, while continuing field inspections to ensure that the works are implemented according to the required quality standards.
The minister reviewed a report on the city’s projects, which included the findings of an inspection tour conducted by Dr. Eng. Mohamed Khalafallah, head of the New Alamein City Development Authority, and officials from the authority to follow up on ongoing works in several areas, particularly the Latin Quarter.
The directives included quickly removing waste, increasing cleaning and beautification works, completing site coordination, and landscaping the rear walkway overlooking the lake, while maintaining the area’s modern and attractive appearance.
She also stressed the need to quickly complete preparations for operating the fire protection network and its related systems while continuing the electricity supply and completing the commercial mall to begin its operation and provide the necessary services to property owners.
The Housing Minister followed up on the operation status of several projects, including the LD05 and LD06 beachfront towers, with an emphasis on completing the operation works and related services according to the highest quality standards.
The report also addressed the testing status of the C2 and LD04 towers, with instructions to quickly address the remaining observations and ensure the efficient operation of the various systems, allowing the units to be delivered to customers according to the specified schedules.
At the Mazarine project, the minister reviewed lighting works for the intermediate spaces, lagoon, and roads, as well as efforts to improve site coordination, landscaping, and green areas, in addition to following up on the status of unit deliveries.
The report reviewed the latest developments of the New Alamein City transportation station project, which is part of a plan to support the city’s transportation system and connect it with various governorates and areas. Dr. Eng. Mohamed Khalafallah explained that the project covers an area of approximately 5,200 square meters, while the administrative building covers 220 square meters.
The station includes two bus shelters. The first can accommodate 8 large buses, while the second can accommodate 16 buses. It also includes two car shelters with capacities of 7 and 11 cars, respectively, in addition to equipped parking areas and services for passengers and employees.
The head of the authority confirmed that the station’s design is based on the latest systems and standards, with adequate spaces for vehicle entry and exit, as well as a security system to protect passengers and secure the facilities.
The New Alamein City Development Authority continues to develop the public transportation system by integrating internal transportation services with external routes connecting the city to Cairo, Matrouh, and other areas, facilitating the movement of citizens, students, and visitors.
The authority also conducted field inspection campaigns to monitor the utilities system. These campaigns included identifying illegal connections and encroachments on drinking water and wastewater networks, reviewing meters, detecting any violations or tampering, and taking the necessary legal and technical measures.
