Engineer Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held an expanded meeting to follow up on the implementation of Phase One projects of the presidential “Decent Life” initiative to develop rural villages.
The meeting covered drinking water, wastewater, and service buildings, as well as preparations to begin implementing projects under Phase Two of the initiative. The meeting was attended by Engineer Ahmed Omran, Deputy Minister of Housing for Utilities, several ministry officials, heads of the ministry’s affiliated entities implementing the projects, and the project consultant.
During the meeting, the Housing Minister reviewed the implementation status of several drinking water, wastewater, and service facility projects currently being implemented under Phase One, along with completion rates across various governorates.
She stressed the need to complete the remaining works, particularly projects with advanced completion rates, to quickly bring them into service and ensure that residents of the targeted rural villages benefit from them.
She also directed efforts to remove any obstacles that may hinder implementation while maintaining coordination among all relevant entities to ensure that projects enter service successively.
The Housing Minister also discussed ongoing preparations to begin implementing projects under Phase Two of the presidential “Decent Life” initiative in coordination with all relevant entities. She emphasized the importance of benefiting from previous implementation experiences during Phase One to help accelerate the start of works according to the specified schedules.
She stressed the importance of proper preparation for all stages of project implementation under Phase Two. This would help achieve the initiative’s objectives of improving the level of services provided to citizens and raising living standards in the targeted villages.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Engineer Randa El-Menshawy affirmed that the ministry is placing the implementation of projects under the presidential “Decent Life” initiative among its top priorities.
She noted that the initiative represents an important step toward achieving the state’s vision of building a community with integrated services, improving citizens’ living standards, and providing them with a decent life across the country.
