Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, is conducting an inspection tour today in 15 May City to oversee housing, road, and infrastructure projects. Several officials from the ministry and the New Urban Communities Authority accompany him. Additionally, El-Sherbiny welcomed Dr. Ahmed El-Ansary, Governor of Fayoum, to discuss shared projects, affirming his full support for development efforts in the governorate and his commitment to accelerating work and overcoming obstacles.
During the meeting, the Housing Minister and the Governor of Fayoum discussed cooperation between the ministry and the governorate, focusing on fulfilling the energy needs of the Demo area. Demo is considered a promising zone for urban expansion, featuring thousands of housing units and investment projects such as schools and universities. The discussion also covered ongoing developmental projects, including the high-speed electric train, the new general hospital, and the strategic storage facility for essential goods, which connects Fayoum with Cairo and Upper Egypt.
The meeting also addressed the optimal utilization of housing units in the social housing projects of Shadmo and Damashqin. Furthermore, they reviewed the progress of the implementation of the European loan project, which aims to restore the environmental balance of Lake Qarun by improving the efficiency of wastewater treatment plants. The governor expressed his appreciation for the project’s progress and praised the efforts of the Ministries of Environment and Water Resources.
