Engineer Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund to discuss a number of files and topics related to the offering and implementation of housing units under the Presidential “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative, as well as to review the status of registration for alternative units for old-rent housing.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Walid Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing for New Urban Communities; Ms. Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund; and members of the Board of Directors, including ministers and experts, via videoconference.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Housing emphasized that, since President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi took office, the Egyptian state has placed significant emphasis on providing suitable housing units within integrated residential communities offering comprehensive services for young people and low-income citizens.

The state launched the largest housing project for low-income citizens in the region, the Presidential “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative, across all governorates of the Republic and in new cities. The initiative also includes the development of housing units under the middle-income segment, stressing the need to continue working toward achieving this vision.
During the meeting, Ms. Mai Abdel Hamid reviewed the procedures taken regarding a number of files being implemented by the Fund in connection with the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative, particularly the latest offering under the “rental” system, which includes 15,000 housing units.
The minister also followed up during the meeting on the status of citizens’ registration through the Egypt Digital Portal for alternative units for old-rent housing, with registration ending on October 12, 2026. The meeting also reviewed the final account of the budget of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund.
