Housing Minister Announces Villa Deliveries in Alexandria’s “Sawari” Urban Development

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced that the ministry began handing over 50 villas on Monday to their owners in the “Sawari” urban development, located in the West Carrefour area of Alexandria. He emphasized the ministry’s commitment to swiftly completing and delivering various housing projects in fully serviced and integrated urban communities.

El-Sherbiny highlighted that the “Sawari” project spans approximately 420 acres and includes 64 residential towers, known as “Sawari Towers,” with 3,068 units and 310 villas. The project aims to provide a range of housing options, along with investment services, to contribute to Alexandria’s urban development efforts.

The minister detailed that the first phase of the project involves the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) constructing 64 residential towers, which encompass 3,068 housing units over 60 acres, as part of a larger 120-acre phase. These units are within a luxury residential compound, with sizes ranging from 130 to 280 square meters. Additionally, 310 villas are being developed on a 57-acre section of the project, alongside infrastructure and road construction.

The second component of the project focuses on regional development, following the political leadership’s “Together We Build the Future” initiative. A cooperation protocol was signed between NUCA, the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, and several investors to develop 250 acres within the “Sawari” urban area through investment projects, using a partnership and equity-sharing model. These projects will include various types of developments, such as residential, commercial, and educational facilities.

It’s worth noting that numerous projects within “Sawari” are being developed through public-private partnerships, with a total of 60 plots of land designated for residential, commercial, administrative, and educational purposes, under the supervision of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority as part of the presidential initiative.
