During their inspection tour, Engineer Randa El Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and Major General Mohamed El Zamlout, Governor of Matrouh, inspected the “Ebni Beitak” Drinking Water Pumping Station in the governorate to review the operation of the facility and ensure the efficiency of water supply services.

The visit was attended by Engineer Ahmed Omran, Deputy Minister of Housing for Utilities, along with officials from the Ministry, Matrouh Governorate, and the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater.

The Minister of Housing and the Governor of Matrouh received a detailed briefing on the project’s components and operational mechanisms. The pumping station serves the Ebni Beitak (1 and 2) areas, the Masjid Al Nour area south of the elevated zone, and Ezbet El Mallaha, benefiting a total population of approximately 45,000 residents.

The project includes three pumps, each with a capacity of 250 cubic meters per hour, a total design capacity of 4,000 cubic meters per day, and a storage capacity of 3,000 cubic meters.

Engineer Randa El Menshawy emphasized the importance of enhancing the efficiency of the pumping and distribution system, ensuring stable water pressure, and maintaining the regular delivery of drinking water to all served areas.

She stressed the need for continuous monitoring of the operational performance of pumping stations and the prompt handling of any observations or emergency malfunctions to ensure the sustainable delivery of services at the highest levels of efficiency and quality, while meeting citizens’ needs, particularly during the seasonal increase in water consumption throughout the summer.
