Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced the granting of an additional six-month grace period for citizens and clients to submit waiver requests for residential, professional, administrative units, commercial shops, and lands of various uses and sizes within cities affiliated with the New Urban Communities Authority. The grace period starts from the date of the announcement and includes reductions in waiver fees during this period, without affecting the terms and commitments outlined in previous decisions related to waiver procedures.
The Minister added that the decision came in response to requests submitted by clients who have been allocated units and lands of different uses and sizes in these cities. The approved reductions are organized according to specific regulations, as follows: 50% reduction on waiver administrative fees for commercial units, 60% for administrative and professional units, and 70% for residential units.

As for lands of various uses and sizes, reductions are granted based on the following tiers:
-
First tier: up to 50 feddans – 50% reduction
-
Second tier: over 50 up to 200 feddans – 60% reduction
-
Third tier: over 200 up to 500 feddans – 70% reduction
-
Fourth tier: over 500 up to 1000 feddans – 80% reduction
-
Fifth tier: more than 1000 feddans – 90% reduction
The decision also outlined general rules for applying the reductions, covering waiver fees, powers of attorney issued for sale or transfer to oneself or others, and all ownership transfer actions related to units and lands in the cities under the Authority. Among the rules, compliance with decisions issued regarding administrative expenses and Board of Trustees’ fees is required, while also considering applications submitted by clients that have not yet been decided upon.
The decision excluded industrial lands and lands located in the Northwestern Coast cities such as New Alamein and Ras El-Hekma, where the relevant previously issued decisions remain applicable without the mentioned reductions. The Authority also emphasized the need to register all powers of attorney issued for units and lands of different sizes and uses, stressing that legal measures will be taken if waiver procedures are not completed within the specified period, including the cancellation of allocation as a fundamental legal procedure.
