Eng. Amr Khattab, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Housing, announced that the dedicated platform for obtaining alternative housing will be available starting from next October for tenants under the old rent system.
Khattab added that the alternative housing will be offered under both new rent and ownership systems, noting that several documents will be required before announcing the locations of the available units.
In this context, Eng. Amr Khattab clarified that the announced conditions stipulate that the alternative unit must be within the same governorate where the tenant resides, while also taking into account the tenant’s social status, household income, and current rental contract.

He further stressed that rejected applications will most likely be due to incomplete or incorrect documents. He also announced that a one-month period will be allocated for appeals related to rejected requests.
Khattab pointed out that documents will be accepted either electronically via the platform or through postal offices across different governorates of the country. He added that the geographical distribution of the alternative housing units will be limited to the tenant’s current governorate, with details of the available units to be announced within three months.
