Head of “Statistics”: 1,642,870 Families Live in Old Rent Units

Major General Khairat Barakat, Head of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), stated that the agency is the primary reference for all data, including real estate information across the entire country.

Speaking in a phone interview with TV host Lobna Assal on the Al-Hayat Al-Youm program on Al-Hayat channel, Barakat noted that among the most prominent available data is information related to the Old Rent Law, pointing out that he attended the last three sessions discussing the legislation. He explained that the real estate database was available at the agency, along with the population census of Egypt conducted in 2017.
