Engineer Ashraf Fathy Mahmoud, Head of the New Damietta City Development Authority, conducted an extensive inspection tour to monitor the progress of road projects, site coordination works, and on-site implementation rates across various neighborhoods of the city. During the tour, the executive status of ongoing works was reviewed, and current completion rates were discussed.
He was accompanied by the authority’s deputy heads, directors of the relevant departments, and representatives of the companies implementing the projects. The tour included visits to several key project sites to assess implementation progress and ensure compliance with approved timelines and technical specifications.
Intensifying Development Works Across New Damietta Neighborhoods According to Approved Timelines
The Head of the Authority began the tour by inspecting development works in residential neighborhoods. He visited Neighborhood 17 in the Third District to follow up on the completion of pedestrian walkway concrete casting, directing that the works should maintain the city’s aesthetic appearance while ensuring ease of movement for residents. He also inspected site landscaping works in Neighborhood 30 in the Sixth District, which include upgrading pedestrian walkways and sidewalks to enhance the area’s visual appeal.
In the same context, Engineer Ashraf Fathy gave special attention to the city’s main traffic corridors to improve traffic flow. He inspected the road running parallel to the International Coastal Road, where he reviewed the completion of asphalt paving layers, emphasizing the importance of this route as a vital artery connecting the city with external road networks.
He also followed up on preliminary excavation works at the entrance to the Chalet Area, aimed at preparing and upgrading the entrance in line with the area’s tourist character.
The Head of the Authority stressed that preserving the city’s real estate assets and infrastructure remains a top priority. The tour included an inspection of Road (A1) to monitor restoration works aimed at returning the roadway to its original condition following the completion of electricity cable installation, ensuring that traffic flow and road safety are not affected.
He also reviewed sidewalk rehabilitation and repair works in the Dar Misr Housing Project (Phase Two) in Neighborhood 34 of the Sixth District, with the goal of maintaining the project’s aesthetic appearance and providing greater comfort for residents.
Developing Roads and Residential Neighborhoods in New Damietta as Part of the Infrastructure Upgrade Plan
The Head of the Authority affirmed that work is continuing around the clock to implement the directives of the Ministry of Housing, emphasizing that the primary objective is to deliver a fully serviced city worthy of the residents of New Damietta.
He stated that no delays in implementation rates will be tolerated and that the ongoing inspection tours are intended to ensure work quality and address any field challenges promptly.
Engineer Ashraf Fathy Mahmoud also instructed the implementing companies to intensify construction activities, accelerate implementation rates, adhere to the highest standards of quality, and maintain site cleanliness throughout execution, while ensuring the timely completion of all works in accordance with the approved schedules.
