Engineer Ahmed Mahmoud Hassan, Head of the New Assiut City Development Authority, revealed the scope of ongoing projects and implementation progress for several development and infrastructure upgrade initiatives targeting the city’s main roads, arterial routes, and entrances.
The Head of the Authority explained that the current plan includes several key initiatives aimed at upgrading infrastructure and enhancing the city’s urban appearance, noting that work is continuing at an accelerated pace across all ongoing projects.
Engineer Ahmed Mahmoud Hassan confirmed that development and rehabilitation works are currently underway on the Universities Road. Asphalt paving and landscaping have been completed on one carriageway, while work continues on the opposite carriageway according to the approved schedule, contributing to improved traffic flow and enhanced road efficiency.
He added that the Authority is also continuing development and rehabilitation works at the city’s entrance from the Technology Zone side. The project includes landscaping, planting, and urban beautification works. He noted that gravel soil spreading and compaction works have been completed, while concrete slab installation and interlocking paving are currently underway in preparation for asphalt works.
The Head of the New Assiut City Development Authority stressed the importance of accelerating implementation rates and adhering to the approved project timelines while maintaining the highest quality standards across all works to achieve the objectives of the development projects and enhance the city’s overall urban appearance.
He pointed out that the work is progressing according to an integrated plan to develop and upgrade the city’s roads, main arterial routes, and entrances, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities to improve infrastructure, enhance public services, and raise the quality of life for residents of New Assiut City.
The Head of the Authority also instructed Engineer Wafaa Hassan Abdullah, Deputy Head of the Authority, along with the directors of the relevant departments, to maintain continuous supervision of the ongoing projects, regularly review implementation progress, and ensure that all works comply with approved quality standards and technical specifications.
