Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced on Monday, August 11, 2025, the handover of a land plot covering an area of 1,470,000 square meters (equivalent to about 350 feddans) to SDM for Development and Management under the industrial developer system.
The plot is located in New Borg El Arab City, near the dry port area and Borg El Arab Airport, adjacent to major roads and key ports. The handover process took place in the presence of officials from the city authority and the company.
The Minister emphasized that this step comes within the framework of fruitful cooperation between the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) and the General Authority for Industrial Development, aiming to streamline procedures for investors and stimulate development.
For his part, Engineer Mohamed El-Ghamrawy, Head of the New Borg El Arab City Development Authority, stated that this project represents a strong push for revitalizing the industrial sector within the city. It aims to create more investment and industrial opportunities, as well as provide new job openings.
Officials from the development company executing the project pointed out that the design of the industrial zone takes into account the provision of sustainable, high-quality infrastructure to minimize environmental impacts and contribute to enhancing digital transformation through the establishment of a smart industrial zone.
They also explained that the industrial plots within the area are designed to range in size from 2,500 to 5,000 square meters, with the possibility of merging, and will host various activities including engineering, chemical industries, textiles, food production, and storage.
Engineer Mohamed El-Ghamrawy added that the primary goal of implementing this project is to establish an integrated, modern industrial area that meets manufacturers’ needs and strengthens the city’s investment role.
