Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, prime minister, issued Decision No. 59 of 2026, extending the deadline for receiving applications to allocate housing units available from the state and designated for eligible applicants subject to the provisions of Law No. 164 of 2025 regulating the relationship between landlords and tenants.
Deadline Extended and New Opportunity Provided to Citizens
Under Article One of the decision, the period stipulated in Item (1) of Article (3) of the rules, conditions, and procedures accompanying Cabinet Decision No. 53 of 2025 will remain in effect until October 12, 2026. The extension is intended to provide citizens with sufficient time to complete their documents and submit applications to obtain the available housing units.
Sequence of Previous Deadline Extension Decisions
The decision was issued based on a proposal submitted by the minister of housing, utilities, and urban communities and following the approval of the cabinet. The extension represents a continuation of a series of procedural decisions explaining and supplementing the law.
Decision No. 4 of 2026 was previously issued to extend the deadline for three months, followed by Decision No. 24 of 2026, which extended it for another three months. The current decision sets October 12 as the final deadline for receiving applications and processing them according to priority.
Article Two of the decision stipulates that it be published in the Official Gazette and enter into force accordingly. The decision was issued by the Prime Minister on Safar 16, 1448 AH, corresponding to July 30, 2026.
