Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund (SHMFF), announced the extension of the application period for the presidential initiative “Housing for All Egyptians 5”. Citizens can now purchase the application booklet and pay the booking deposit until Tuesday, December 31, 2024.

The extension compensates citizens for the temporary suspension of booklet sales at automated post offices. This suspension, from Saturday, November 30, 2024, to Tuesday, December 3, 2024, aims to ensure pensioners can access their payments smoothly. Sales will resume on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.

Abdel Hamid highlighted the overwhelming public response to the initiative. Over 220,740 application booklets were sold, and 42,757 citizens paid the booking deposit within the first three days. She reassured citizens that booklets are abundantly available at 400 automated post offices nationwide, with continuous restocking to meet demand.

She also urged citizens to avoid crowding post offices as the fund employs a pre-defined priority system.
