Engineer Mohamed Ahmed Zakaria has declared a state of emergency and full preparedness across all departments of the Shorouk City Authority, aiming to ensure uninterrupted delivery of high-quality services to citizens throughout the Eid al-Adha holiday, operating efficiently on a 24-hour basis.
This step is being taken in line with the directives of Engineer Randa El Minshawy to maximize readiness across all New City Authorities in preparation for Eid al-Adha, as issued by the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities and the New Urban Communities Authority.
The head of the authority confirmed that field inspections were conducted to verify the readiness of all executive departments and to ensure a high level of preparedness across all sectors, including operation and maintenance, sanitation, landscaping, and electricity.
These inspections also covered the availability of equipment, vehicles, emergency teams, and technical staff to respond promptly to any complaints or malfunctions during the holiday period.
Zakaria added that the authority is working according to an integrated operational plan aimed at preserving the civilized appearance of Shorouk City and delivering the highest standard of services to residents.
Misr El Madina Company, along with other operation and maintenance companies, has been assigned to work continuously around the clock, intensifying cleaning operations and immediately removing waste from streets, main roads, and residential areas. Efforts also continue to maintain and enhance green spaces and plantations throughout the city.
He further highlighted the high level of readiness within the electricity department, including ongoing periodic maintenance of lighting poles and lamps and ensuring the efficiency of public lighting networks across all districts. This is intended to provide a safe and well-lit environment for citizens during the holiday, with maintenance and emergency teams available 24/7 to handle any faults swiftly.
He also emphasized special attention to Eid prayer areas and mosque surroundings through intensified cleaning, waste removal, lighting inspections, and overall preparation of adjacent spaces. Emergency teams will be present from early morning to ensure that the festive atmosphere reflects the civilized image of Shorouk City.
Engineer Hussein Al-Ahmadi confirmed that operation and maintenance teams will continue working around the clock to respond immediately to any technical faults or complaints during the holiday period. Engineer Ramadan Abdel Samad noted the intensification of cleaning and landscaping efforts, waste removal, and care for green areas and Eid prayer locations.
Engineer Emad Shahat also reaffirmed the ongoing state of emergency in the electricity sector, monitoring the efficiency of public lighting, and ensuring rapid response to any faults, in line with the Head of the Authority’s directives to raise readiness across all sectors during Eid al-Adha.
He added that field presence has been increased both morning and evening across all neighborhoods, along with the formation of operation rooms and rapid response teams to address any observations or citizen complaints immediately. He also confirmed that reports received via the hotline 15100 are handled and resolved without delay, ensuring residents’ comfort and the continuous and efficient provision of services.
Engineer Mohamed Ahmed Zakaria further confirmed that daily campaigns and intensified field monitoring will continue to prevent any building violations or encroachments during the holiday period, with immediate legal action taken against violators.
This is in implementation of the directives of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities and the New Urban Communities Authority. He stressed that all departments in Shorouk City are operating at full capacity to deliver the best services and ensure full discipline across all districts during the Eid al-Adha holiday.
