President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a telephone call today with President Cyril Ramaphosa, the President of the Republic of South Africa.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shinawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic, stated that the call included a mutual affirmation by both presidents of the strength of the relations binding Egypt and South Africa and the positive steps these relations are witnessing in various fields.

Both presidents expressed their satisfaction with the progress achieved, emphasizing the importance of continuing efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic and trade fields, in addition to solidifying mechanisms for coordination and consultation at regional and international levels, particularly within the framework of the African Union, the United Nations, and the BRICS group.
The official spokesperson added that the discussion also addressed regional developments, where President Ramaphosa praised the outcomes of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit and the resulting agreement to cease hostilities in the Gaza Strip.
In this context, President El-Sisi emphasized the necessity of full commitment to implementing the agreement and solidifying the ceasefire, in addition to ensuring the delivery of necessary quantities of humanitarian aid and accelerating the reconstruction process.
