Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, followed up on the implementation status and completion rates of several housing projects and development works in New Damietta City.
The follow-up aims to accelerate implementation rates across ongoing projects and monitor compliance with periodic maintenance programs for completed projects, helping preserve assets and ensure the sustainability of investments being injected into various projects. “El-Menshawy” emphasized the need to continue improving the efficiency of roads, utilities, and services, as well as landscaping, planting, and cleanliness works across different areas of New Damietta City.
This is being carried out in parallel with continuous monitoring of residential projects to ensure the efficiency and sustainability of assets and utilities, provide the highest possible level of services, improve the quality of life for city residents, and strengthen the city’s position as one of the modern urban communities with integrated development and service capabilities.
Randa El-Menshawy followed up on the implementation status of 33 buildings in the “Diarna” residential project in New Damietta City, stressing the need to accelerate implementation rates and adhere to the highest quality standards throughout all stages of the project.
The project is considered one of the modern residential models being implemented by the ministry. She also emphasized the need to quickly address any obstacles that could hinder implementation, ensuring the project’s completion and the delivery of units to applicants according to the scheduled deadlines.
The Minister of Housing also reviewed the results of inspection tours of development and efficiency-improvement projects in New Damietta City. Eng. Ashraf Fathy, Head of the New Damietta City Development Authority, along with authority officials, inspected road and infrastructure development and efficiency-improvement works across various areas of the city.
These included road maintenance and efficiency improvements in the Sixth Neighborhood of the First District and maintenance and efficiency improvements on the western coastal road at Square No. (1) and the eastern entrance, as well as road paving works in Area (32) of the Sixth District. These works followed the completion of basic utilities and the commencement of construction on residential land plots.
The report also covered the latest developments in the city’s cleanliness and waste-removal system, maintenance of planted areas and green spaces, and landscaping works. It also monitored the level of services provided in various areas and the immediate handling of any encroachments or unauthorized occupations, helping preserve the city’s urban appearance and improve the aesthetic and environmental standards of its neighborhoods, entrances, and main roads.
“El-Menshawy” also followed up on the status of services at housing project sites in the city, including “Dar Misr,” with a total of 303 buildings, and “Janna,” with a total of 127 buildings, in addition to national housing projects. The follow-up focused on the level of services provided, cleanliness and maintenance works, and the quality of landscaping in the areas surrounding the residential projects.
