Egypt’s Housing Minister Meets Slovak Minister to Showcase Investment Opportunities in Fourth-Generation Cities

On the sidelines of the 12th World Urban Forum, Engineer Sherif El-Sharbin, Egypt’s Minister of Housing and Urban Communities, met with the Slovak Minister of Investment and Regional Development to present a range of investment opportunities in Egypt’s newly developed cities, particularly the innovative fourth-generation smart cities. Ministry officials were also present at the meeting.

Minister El-Sharbin highlighted that Egypt, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, has prioritized the establishment and development of fourth-generation cities. These are sustainable, smart cities designed to accommodate diverse investment opportunities, particularly in urban development and industrial zones aimed at attracting and localizing modern technology.

The Housing Minister stressed that President El-Sisi’s directives emphasize the importance of enhancing Egyptian industry and local products. Egypt seeks to achieve this through collaboration between Egyptian and international companies, allowing for the exchange of expertise and the localization of advanced technology. The Ministry of Housing, he explained, fully supports foreign direct investment and encourages industries related to construction, potable water, and wastewater projects.

El-Sharbin also noted that Egypt’s new capital, New Alamein, New Mansoura, and other fourth-generation cities offer a variety of investment options. These include integrated urban projects, service-oriented developments, and industrial projects that can be executed within industrial zones. The Ministry is flexible in collaborating with the private sector and provides full support and guidance for the most viable investment opportunities based on the needs of the Egyptian real estate market.

The Slovak Minister expressed admiration for Egypt’s ongoing urban transformation and his desire to deepen cooperation, leveraging Egypt’s extensive experience in urban development.
