Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, along with Engineer Adel El-Naggar, Governor of Giza, held a meeting in the vicinity of the Pyramids to discuss the master plan for developing this iconic area. The meeting comes as part of the directives from the Supreme Council for Urban Planning and Development, chaired by the Prime Minister.
Minister El-Sherbiny emphasized the importance of upgrading the Pyramids area, noting the need for an increase in hotel accommodations to match the site’s historical and archaeological significance. He highlighted that the state’s vision involves a comprehensive development that extends beyond the Grand Egyptian Museum to include the entire surrounding area. The goal is to attract greater tourism investment, capitalizing on the site’s status as a premier global tourist destination.
Governor El-Naggar added that the development aims to enhance the area’s value and maximize its potential, ensuring visitors experience the necessary comfort and amenities. He stressed that Egypt is deeply committed to preserving and enhancing this significant archaeological site, a major cultural and tourism hub worldwide.
The improvement efforts will also focus on creating a positive image for visitors, beginning from the entrance to the Pyramids area and throughout their visit.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister, Dr. Maha Fahim, Head of the General Authority for Urban Planning, Engineer Ahmed Abdelkader, Head of the Executive Authority for Water and Sanitation, Engineer Elham El-Sergany, Assistant Supervisor at the Minister’s Office, Major General Shaker Younis, Secretary General of Giza Governorate, and Engineer Mohamed Nour, Assistant Secretary General.
