The Egyptian Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Eng. Sherif El-Sherbini, announced the allocation of 5% of land plots (equivalent to 426 plots) for people with special needs or their guardians from a total of 8,521 plots available in 20 new cities. These cities include West Qena, New Assiut, Sadat, Badr, New Beni Suef, October Gardens, New Tiba, New Minya, New Borg El Arab, New Akhmim, New Sohag, New Qena, New Fayoum, New Nasser, New Aswan, New Mallawi, 10th of Ramadan, 6th of October, Shorouk, and Obour. This initiative aligns with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to provide care and support to Egypt’s citizens with special needs.
In a statement on Friday, the minister explained that applications for these land plots can be submitted via the online platform “Masaken – Land Axis” (www.reserve.newcities.gov.eg), starting from November 7, 2024, until January 6, 2025. The plots will be allocated through a public lottery, and the date and location of the lottery will be announced later.
Dr. Hassan El-Shourbagy, Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority for Real Estate and Commercial Affairs, clarified that applicants from the special needs category, or their guardians, can register on the “Masaken – Land Axis” website by entering essential details, including their name, national ID number, email, phone number, address, and their integrated service card number. Applicants are also required to upload a copy of their national ID and the integrated service card.
After registration, applicants select the desired city and plot type, make a down payment and administrative fees via a reference number provided by the website, and choose from several payment methods, including Mastercard, Fawry Plus, or bank transfer through the Housing and Development Bank.
Once the application window closes, submissions will be reviewed, and applicants who meet the requirements will be notified of the lottery details. The lottery will begin with the 5% allocation (426 plots) for people with special needs, followed by the allocation for other applicants.
