Efforts to Remove Violations and Illegal Constructions in New Cities

The Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, issued two decisions regarding the removal of encroachments and construction violations in the cities of Sadat and New October. These efforts are part of ongoing campaigns to maintain the urban aesthetic in new cities.

El-Sherbiny emphasized that efforts to remove violations continue across the new cities, in cooperation with relevant authorities. He also pointed out that city heads have been instructed to oversee these actions as part of their direct responsibility.

The first decision pertains to construction violations near the dry port in New October City, covering an area of 1,000 square meters. The violations include unauthorized additions and construction works that do not comply with regulations. These will be administratively removed.

The second decision focuses on violations in Sadat City, specifically regarding the construction of a third floor on a plot of land in residential area 29, which violates the building permits issued for the site.

These actions will be carried out by the Development Authority of New October and Sadat Cities, with support from the Construction Management Authority and the relevant police departments.

In a related development, Engineer Mohamed Abdel-Aziz Amer, head of the Badr City Development Authority, confirmed a coordinated campaign with the construction police led by Major Michael Monir Magar and Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed El-Iraqi. They decided to immediately remove the unauthorized third floor on a plot in Badr City due to the failure to secure the necessary permits.

Engineer Amer highlighted that the campaign is part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal construction and encroachments, with continuous monitoring to identify and address new violations.

In the same context, Engineer Alaa Abdel-Latif Mustafa, head of the Urban Development Authority for the Tenth of Ramadan City, stated that authorities, in collaboration with the police and construction inspection units, had carried out a comprehensive operation to remove violations and maintain order in the city.

The campaign in the Tenth of Ramadan resulted in 23 decisions to close, seal, and remove violations in the first district and the Jordanian area. These included illegal shopping centers and obstructions to public spaces and traffic flow. Additionally, vehicles such as tricycles and iron carts were confiscated, and obstacles in the roads were removed to ensure smooth traffic flow and preserve the city’s aesthetic.

Furthermore, the Sadat City Development Authority, under the leadership of Engineer Yasser Abdel-Halim Hassan, carried out an extensive campaign to remove unauthorized buildings and encroachments in the Rawda and Raihan areas. The operation successfully demolished 13 illegally constructed buildings in coordination with security and administrative authorities.

City officials reiterated the need to continue these efforts decisively, ensuring that encroachments on state-owned land are removed and taking all necessary steps to protect the rights of the state and its citizens.
