Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, inspected the “PortaLona” Hotel and the “Wadi Yemm” Project, both owned by UAE-based Modon Holding, to follow up on the final preparations for the hotel’s opening and the project’s implementation progress.
The visit took place as part of his tour to monitor work on the development projects in “New Ras El Hekma” on the northwest coast under the Egyptian-UAE partnership. He was accompanied by Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities; Major General Dr. Mohamed El-Zamlout, Governor of Matrouh; Jassem Al Zaabi, Chairman of Modon Holding and Chairman of the Department of Finance in Abu Dhabi; and several UAE officials.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly emphasized that the ongoing work and implementation plans being completed in “Ras El Hekma” represent one of the key pillars of the comprehensive national strategy to advance sustainable urban and tourism development on the northwest coast.
He noted that the pace of completion and existing investment partnerships reflect the strength and ability of the Egyptian state to attract more promising global investments and transform them into projects on the ground within record timeframes.
This is being achieved through an integrated work system that has successfully created a favorable investment climate, accelerated procedures for investors, and strengthened Egypt’s position as a leading tourism and development destination capable of continued growth and addressing various challenges.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the significant importance of joint projects with UAE-based Modon Holding, which represent one of the outcomes of the strategic partnership between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the sisterly United Arab Emirates. He emphasized the major operational returns expected from these projects and their ability to maximize foreign direct investment flows in support of the state’s comprehensive development plans.
In this context, Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, emphasized that the “Ras El Hekma” Project represents a model for the sustainable and smart cities that the state seeks to develop on the northwest coast. The project is intended to become a global investment, tourism, and urban and service destination on the Mediterranean coast.
She highlighted the major importance of the investments and implementation plans undertaken by Modon Holding, which directly contribute to introducing the latest global standards in tourism and hospitality services to the Egyptian market, opening new development prospects, maximizing the benefits of efficient infrastructure, and providing thousands of job opportunities for young Egyptians.
The prime minister and his accompanying delegation began the visit with an introductory tour of the hotel’s facilities. The tour included an inspection of a model hotel room, the eastern and western restaurants, and the promenade. Meanwhile, Jassem Al Zaabi, Chairman of Modon Holding and Chairman of the Department of Finance in Abu Dhabi, explained that the “PortaLona” Hotel is one of the Morgans Originals hotels within Modon Hospitality’s portfolio.
Jassem Al Zaabi added that the hotel features 73 hotel suites, seven restaurants, and a boutique resort located directly on the beach, in addition to state-of-the-art facilities and services. These features reflect the highest global standards in hospitality and tourism services provided by the project.
Following the tour, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and his accompanying delegation headed to the sales center, where he reviewed the center’s facilities and images of the project. He also watched a documentary film about the “Ras El Hekma” Project before inspecting the simulation room.
The prime minister and his accompanying delegation then inspected the construction work on the “Wadi Yemm” project. They listened to a presentation on the project’s implementation progress, which includes 13 residential communities and six hotels, along with a wide range of world-class entertainment and modern lifestyle facilities.
The presentation also detailed the project’s components, which include two championship golf courses, each featuring 18 holes, a theater with a capacity of 10,000 people, a sports club, and a 1.3-kilometer tourist promenade featuring numerous luxury shops and restaurants. The project also includes a 2.5-kilometer beach, a coastal park, and five coastal lagoons. Construction work on the various project components is progressing according to the approved plans.
Company officials also reviewed the efforts of the sales team, confirming that more than 3,500 units have been sold. This reflects the strong demand for the project and growing customer confidence. It also confirms the attractiveness of the “Ras El Hekma” Project and the promising investment and tourism opportunities it offers.
In conclusion, the Prime Minister extended his sincere thanks to Modon Holding, the UAE officials, and the Egyptian companies involved in implementing these projects. He noted their contribution to establishing “Ras El Hekma” and the northwest coast as a whole as one of the Mediterranean’s leading destinations.
He also praised the rapidly advancing fieldwork, the harmonious architectural design, and the outstanding technical and construction quality across the various project sites.
