In line with the directives of Engineer Randa El Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, which stress the importance of continuous monitoring of infrastructure projects, Engineer Ahmed Omran, Deputy Minister of Housing for Utilities, carried out an inspection tour covering a number of utilities projects in New Cairo City.
He was accompanied by Engineer Ahmed Ali, Deputy Head of the New Urban Communities Authority for the Utilities Sector and for Monitoring and Maintenance of Networks and Stations, along with Engineer Ahmed Rashad El Sherif, Head of the City Authority, and several officials from both the utilities sector and the city authority.
During the tour, Engineer Ahmed Omran reviewed a detailed presentation on the progress of multiple utilities projects across New Cairo City, including stations, networks, and roadworks.
The visit also included an inspection of ongoing utilities work in the “Beit Al Watan” area within the eastern expansion zone, where road construction, water supply systems, and wastewater network projects are currently underway in preparation for accommodating residents and supporting urban growth.
Within the same framework, housing officials monitored the progress of sewage connection projects across the city, which aim to redirect part of the flow to the Gabal El Asfar system, thereby improving network efficiency and service quality.
The inspected works included the construction of a connection to a 1600 mm diameter concrete sewage pipeline linked to the Gabal El Asfar line at El Shouifat station, as well as another connection on a 1500 mm diameter pipeline at the Yasmin and Mirage stations along the same line.
Throughout the tour, Engineer Ahmed Omran underscored the importance of strict adherence to project schedules, accelerating implementation rates, and promptly addressing any challenges that could hinder progress.
He also called for firm action against any unjustified delays to ensure timely project completion in line with the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Meanwhile, Engineer Ahmed Rashad El Sherif confirmed that the “Beit Al Watan” area remains a key priority within the current development plan of the New Cairo City Authority.
He noted that daily field follow-ups are ongoing through the authority’s deputies and executive teams to increase work rates and meet targeted deadlines, in close coordination with all relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and improved overall performance.
