Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting with representatives of an alliance consisting of the Arab Contractors Company and a global firm specializing in seawater desalination plants.
During the meeting, the alliance representatives expressed their strong interest in investing in the establishment, operation, and maintenance of desalination plants through cooperation with the ministry’s affiliated authorities. They also presented a detailed overview of the modern technologies and design solutions employed by the alliance, highlighting their technical advantages and innovative engineering capabilities.

Dr. Ismail discussed the investment opportunities available through the Ministry of Housing, emphasizing Egypt’s strategic plan for seawater desalination up to the year 2050. He stressed the importance of localizing the production of electromechanical components—particularly desalination membranes—to achieve self-sufficiency and enhance export potential to Gulf countries and North Africa.
The Deputy Minister directed the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater to conduct a comprehensive technical and economic feasibility study on the proposed solutions. He reaffirmed the ministry’s full support for promoting investment and strengthening public-private partnership projects in the fields of drinking water and wastewater management.
