Engineer Alaa Abdel Laah, head of the 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority, announced that the authority had thwarted two attempts to convert residential plots into commercial activities in violation of the city’s planning regulations.
The authority halted the illegal construction works and removed the violations before they could be completed as part of its efforts to preserve the residential character of neighborhoods and prevent any unlawful changes to land use that contradict the city’s approved urban master plan.
The head of the authority explained that the inspection campaign resulted in stopping an attempt to convert Residential Plot No. (60) in the Fourth Neighborhood, a car wash after work had begun to open three commercial shops in violation of the applicable regulations.
The illegal works were halted, the violations were removed, and the confiscated metal shop doors were seized and stored at the authority’s headquarters. The campaign also stopped renovation works intended to reopen commercial shops on Plot No. (24) in the Fourth Neighborhood, removed the violations, and demolished the illegally constructed sidewalks before the unauthorized works could be completed.

The campaign was carried out with the participation of the Residential Neighborhoods Department, Encroachments and Violations Department, Movement and Equipment Department, Security Department, and in coordination with the Utilities Police. Legal measures were taken against the violators to ensure that violations are addressed at their earliest stages and to preserve the urban harmony of residential neighborhoods.
These efforts come in the implementation of the directives of Engineer Randa El Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, to intensify field inspections, promptly detect violations, and take immediate action against them.
The campaign was conducted under the supervision of Engineer Alaa Abdel Laah Mostafa, Head of the 10th of Ramadan City Authority and Supervisor of Hadayek Al Ashir Authority, who directed the continuation of monitoring and removal campaigns and the enforcement of all necessary legal procedures to prevent any unauthorized changes to approved land uses.
Engineer Alaa Abdel Laah Mostafa stressed that the city authority deals firmly with all cases of illegal construction or unauthorized changes in land use and will not allow any fait accompli that violates the approved residential use of land plots.
He reaffirmed that field inspection campaigns will continue and that the law will be enforced equally against all violators without exception in order to preserve the urban identity and civilized appearance of 10th of Ramadan City.
