Engineer Alaa Abdel Lah Mostafa, Head of the 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority and Supervisor of the Hadayek 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority, held a coordination meeting with officials from the Badr City Development Authority, attended by representatives from both authorities, to review the proposed route of the tertiary-treated irrigation water transmission pipeline connecting the two cities.
The meeting was held in implementation of the directives of Engineer Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, aimed at enhancing the efficient use of water resources and supporting infrastructure projects in Egypt’s new cities.
The meeting included a detailed review of the proposed route for the tertiary-treated irrigation water transmission pipeline. Participants discussed the project’s technical and engineering aspects, in addition to examining observations and potential challenges that could affect the implementation of the pipeline according to the planned schedule.
The discussions also addressed all potential technical conflicts along the proposed route to ensure the project is implemented with the highest levels of operational and technical efficiency while achieving its intended objectives of supporting irrigation projects and urban expansion in the region.
The meeting concluded with an agreement for the consultants assigned by the 10th of Ramadan, the City Development Authority, and the Badr City Development Authority to conduct a comprehensive and detailed re-evaluation of the proposed route.
The objective is to address all technical observations raised during the meeting and identify the best engineering alternatives and solutions to ensure safe implementation and prevent any future conflicts.
Engineer Alaa Abdel Lah Mostafa emphasized that this step reflects the commitment to implementing the project based on carefully studied scientific and engineering principles, ensuring the highest standards of efficiency and sustainability in water resource management.
He explained that the treated irrigation water transmission pipeline is one of the strategic infrastructure projects aimed at supporting the reuse of tertiary-treated wastewater by supplying it for irrigation purposes in Badr City. The project will maximize the utilization of available water resources while reducing dependence on conventional water sources.
He added that the project aligns with the state’s strategy to expand the use of treated water for irrigation and landscape agriculture in new urban communities, supporting sustainable development plans and preserving natural resources.
Engineer Alaa Abdel Lah Mostafa stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination among all relevant authorities and specialized consultants to ensure the accuracy of technical studies and the safety of the project’s final route. This coordination will help expedite the completion of the required procedures and enable implementation according to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
He further affirmed that the joint cooperation between the 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority and the Badr City Development Authority represents a successful model of institutional integration in implementing development projects that serve new cities and support sustainable urban expansion plans.
The head of the 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority also confirmed that joint coordination between both authorities and their consultants will continue throughout the upcoming phases to reach the optimal technical solutions that ensure the project’s efficient implementation and the achievement of its development objectives, while supporting infrastructure and irrigation projects and reinforcing sustainable urban development efforts across the region.
