Khaled Saeed, Chairman of the Senate Housing Committee, praised the Ministry of Housing’s commitment to national projects over recent years, calling these efforts a source of pride for all Egyptians. Speaking at today’s committee meeting, Saeed highlighted that since 2014, the ministry has worked to increase Egypt’s inhabited land area, expanding developed regions and achieving notable success. Currently, 13.6% of the country’s land is populated, doubling the previous area and demonstrating the ministry’s continuous efforts in urban development.
Saeed noted the significant progress in infrastructure, with 4,676 villages now receiving modern sanitation services. He emphasized that the “Decent Life” initiative aims to extend these services to 100% of villages nationwide. “There is no longer an unsafe area in the country,” Saeed affirmed, underscoring the ministry’s ongoing commitment to safe, secure, and sustainable development.
The meeting was attended by Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, alongside senior officials from the ministry and members of the Senate.
