Engineer Mona Al-Batraoui, Deputy Governor of Cairo for the Eastern District, chaired a meeting to discuss important files and evaluate the level of services provided to citizens, with a special focus on the Old Rent Law.
The meeting was attended by district heads and directors of relevant departments, in line with the assignments of the Prime Minister and the directives of the Deputy Governor.
The Deputy Governor reviewed the progress of investment plan projects and the implementation rates in each district, stressing the importance of submitting regular reports on achievements and obstacles to enable appropriate decision-making. She emphasized improving services and maximizing the use of resources in line with the sustainable development plan.

She instructed for intensified efforts to remove encroachments on state-owned lands and illegal buildings, while strictly dealing with any new violations, particularly unauthorized construction in its early stages. She also underlined the need to improve cleaning services and hold negligent parties accountable to ensure a better environment for citizens.
She called for facilitating reconciliation procedures for building violations by simplifying steps and expediting completion to achieve citizens’ satisfaction, while mandating the presence of officials in technological centers.
The Deputy Governor urged the committees formed in the districts to speed up the completion of surveys of Old Rent areas within the set timeframe, aiming to achieve social balance that enhances the relationship between landlords and tenants.
