Mai Abdel Hamid, the head of the Social Housing Fund, clarified the possibility of old rent tenants obtaining units in social housing.

She stated that these tenants are not eligible for social housing units except in one specific case: if they relinquish their current rented units. Only after doing so can they apply for social housing units. Otherwise, they cannot benefit from these units.
