Cairo – In a significant milestone for Egypt’s urban development, Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced the completion of a public draw to allocate 767 diverse housing units across seven new cities. These units are part of the broader offering of 1,645 units across eight cities, available for instant reservation through city authorities under the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) projects. Applications for these units were open between September 29 and October 28.
Hassan El-Shorbagi, Deputy Head of NUCA for Real Estate and Commercial Affairs, provided further details, stating that the public draw took place on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Hassan Mostafa Indoor Hall in 6th of October City. The cities included in this draw were:
- 10th of Ramadan
- New Borg El-Arab
- New Rashid
- 6th of October
- Obour
- New Mallawi
- New Salhia
El-Shorbagi emphasized that only applicants with proof of payment for reservation deposits were allowed to attend the draw. To ensure transparency and accessibility, the event was also broadcast live on NUCA’s official website, making it easier for applicants to follow the proceedings.
The Deputy Head also revealed plans for another public draw scheduled for Tuesday, December 3, 2024, to allocate units in New Mansoura City. This draw will take place at the Damietta New City Stadium, continuing NUCA’s commitment to equitable and transparent allocation processes for its housing projects.
These efforts underline the government’s dedication to expanding access to quality housing and fostering sustainable urban development across Egypt’s growing network of new cities.
