ACUD Hosts Students from the Egyptian Federation for Intellectual Disabilities at the New Administrative Capital

Engineer Khaled Abbas, Chairman and CEO of the Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD), along with Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity, and Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, welcomed a delegation of students from the Egyptian Federation for Intellectual Disabilities, “Qadiron B’Ekhtilaf,” at the ACUD headquarters. The delegation was led by Engineer Amal Mobdy, Vice President of the Paralympic Committee and President of the Egyptian Federation for Intellectual Disabilities.

Supporting Inclusion and Empowerment

Abbas expressed pride in being part of these noble efforts, emphasizing ACUD’s commitment to supporting individuals with special needs. “We are honored to provide a unique experience for people of determination through visits to our monumental urban projects,” said Abbas. He noted that ACUD consistently organizes visits for “Qadiron B’Ekhtilaf” students to the New Administrative Capital in collaboration with various organizations.

Highlighting ACUD’s dedication to inclusion, Abbas announced the recent launch of the “Path of Life” educational initiative, aimed at creating an inclusive educational environment for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This initiative, which caters to individuals with autism, dyslexia, and other emotional, social, and psychological needs, is a collaboration between ACUD, the UK-based WMC Foundation, and Cavendish Education.

“We are committed to providing accessible environments and integrated facilities that meet the needs of all members of society, particularly people of determination,” Abbas added. “This aligns with President Sisi’s directives to ensure social cohesion and promote their integration into society.”

Coordinated Efforts for Disability Inclusion

Dr. Maya Morsy highlighted the collaboration between the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and ACUD as a testament to the government’s commitment to protecting the rights of people with disabilities. She emphasized the importance of creating a supportive environment that offers equal opportunities for their active participation alongside all segments of society.

Morsy also announced the opening of the first childcare center at the Ministry of Justice headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, offering free services to children of working mothers. She revealed plans to open similar centers at the Ministry of Social Solidarity and ACUD headquarters in the coming months. These steps are part of the Presidential Initiative for Human Development, “A New Beginning to Build the Nation,” which aims to provide a safe, modern, and inclusive educational environment for all.

Empowering People of Determination

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy underscored the significance of welcoming the “Qadiron B’Ekhtilaf” delegation to the New Administrative Capital. He described it as a reflection of the state’s dedication to empowering individuals with disabilities and fostering their integration across all sectors, following direct guidance from Egypt’s leadership.

He further highlighted the continuous collaboration between the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and ACUD. “Together, we are implementing joint programs for youth and children with special needs, reaffirming the Egyptian state’s commitment to empowering them and opening new opportunities for their participation in shaping Egypt’s future,” Sobhy concluded.

A Step Toward an Inclusive Future

The visit of “Qadiron B’Ekhtilaf” students and the ongoing initiatives underscore the Egyptian government’s dedication to creating an inclusive society. Through educational programs, accessible facilities, and strategic partnerships, Egypt is paving the way for individuals of all abilities to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development.
