Engineer Mahmoud Mourad, Head of the New Obour City Development Authority, continues his intensive efforts to complete the city’s comprehensive development plan, in line with the directives of Engineer Randa El Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, emphasizing the importance of enhancing the urban and aesthetic appearance of new cities, accelerating development, and upgrading infrastructure to reflect the scale of national achievements and meet the aspirations of Egyptian citizens.
In this context, Engineer Mahmoud Mourad conducted an extensive field inspection tour, accompanied by the authority’s deputy heads, the assistant head of the authority, and directors of executive departments, to review the latest developments and monitor the progress of construction and implementation works across several key projects on the ground.
The Authority Head began his tour by inspecting the construction site of the city’s Eastern Entrance Gateway, stressing that the gateway is not merely an entry point but represents the city’s visual identity and its first urban landmark, welcoming both residents and visitors.
He explained that the gateway’s design and construction adhere to the latest architectural and aesthetic standards, serving as a true reflection of the ongoing urban development taking place across all sectors of New Obour City and showcasing the state’s and the Ministry of Housing’s efforts to provide an integrated urban environment.
The inspection tour also included a review of the implementation status of infrastructure and utility projects in District 19 (formerly the Talae Area) and the service corridor. The delegation inspected road construction and grading works in Neighborhoods G and H, as well as the city’s entrance from the Cairo–Ismailia Desert Road.
The tour included monitoring manhole elevation adjustments to ensure operational efficiency, in addition to inspecting valve chambers and utility networks within the service corridor to verify that work is progressing according to the approved engineering plans.
New Obour City Prepares to Hand Over New Neighborhoods After Accelerating Road and Utility Works
During his inspection of the project sites, Engineer Mahmoud Mourad stressed the importance of full compliance with technical specifications and the quality of construction materials.
He directed contractors to intensify implementation efforts and accelerate the completion of the remaining works with the highest levels of efficiency in preparation for announcing the handover dates of the neighborhoods to property owners. He also emphasized the importance of full coordination among all participating entities to ensure that the areas are fully prepared to provide services to residents.
Engineer Mahmoud Mourad concluded the tour by affirming that intensive field follow-up will continue to overcome any obstacles. He noted that the current phase requires the highest levels of discipline and commitment to ensure the swift completion of projects while maintaining sustainable quality standards, in line with the strategic vision of presenting the city in its finest urban form for the benefit of its residents.
