In line with the directives of Engineer Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and the guidance of Engineer Nader Zafar, Head of the 6th of October City Development Authority, the city’s departments are continuing to implement an integrated plan aimed at upgrading green areas, improving environmental conditions, and reinforcing order along major roads and corridors.
These initiatives support the preservation of the city’s modern appearance and contribute to enhancing residents’ quality of life. During the past several days, landscaping and maintenance efforts have been intensified throughout different parts of the city. The Agriculture Department has maintained its daily activities along the 26th of July Corridor and across a number of residential neighborhoods.
The work included pruning ground cover plants and collecting fallen leaves, waste materials, and plastic bags, in addition to carrying out regular irrigation operations to protect vegetation, sustain green spaces, and preserve the visual appeal of the city’s primary roadways.
The activities also involved implementing irrigation schedules in the Central Area and the Seventh District, along with irrigation works, basin cleaning, and the removal of agricultural waste within the 134-Building Project under the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative. These actions contribute to maintaining the efficiency of landscaped areas and improving the surrounding residential environment.
As part of the same efforts, the city authority continued maintenance operations for green spaces and irrigation networks along the 26th of July Corridor by monitoring plant conditions and performing routine maintenance on irrigation systems.
Such measures help ensure the effective operation of these networks and preserve the corridor’s distinctive urban character, given its importance as one of the city’s main thoroughfares.
Meanwhile, the city authority stepped up its field campaigns to promote order and address unauthorized activities. A large-scale evening campaign was conducted in the Southern Sector, leading to the removal of several unlicensed livestock market structures located along El-Kafrawy Axis. The campaign also included the immediate removal of encroachments that hinder traffic flow or detract from the city’s overall appearance.
These initiatives are being implemented under the supervision of the Authority’s Deputy Heads, Engineer Radi Khalil, Engineer Mohamed Yehia, Engineer Ahmed Ragab, and Engineer Hossam Hosny, within the framework of a comprehensive plan focused on continuous field follow-up, advancing landscaping and maintenance works, supporting beautification efforts, and achieving full discipline throughout all city sectors.
On the 6th of October, the City Development Authority reaffirmed its commitment to continuing maintenance and beautification programs, monitoring utilities and green areas, and carrying out daily campaigns to eliminate violations and encroachments. These ongoing efforts are intended to safeguard the city’s aesthetic and civilized identity while reflecting the high standard of services provided to its residents.
