The 6th of October City Development Authority continues implementing a comprehensive plan for road development, maintenance, and rehabilitation works aimed at improving the city’s road network and enhancing the quality of services provided to residents.
The initiative is being carried out in line with the directives of Engineer Randa El Menshawy, minister of housing, utilities, and urban communities; Dr. Engineer Walid Abbas, deputy minister of housing, utilities, and urban communities; and the instructions of Engineer Nader Zafar, head of the 6th of October City Development Authority.
The ongoing works include maintenance and rehabilitation projects in the Second and Third Districts of the Eastern Expansion Area. These works involve removing damaged asphalt layers, constructing irrigation drainage networks, and replacing deteriorated sidewalks, contributing to improved road efficiency and enhanced traffic safety.
Maintenance works are also continuing on El Khamayel Road, which connects the Ring Road with the 26th of July Corridor. The project includes asphalt paving and the maintenance of New Jersey barriers to improve road performance and achieve the highest traffic safety standards.
Development efforts have also extended to the Seventh and Eighth Districts in the Eastern Expansion Area, where road and infrastructure maintenance works are underway, in addition to maintenance projects in the Fifth District. These activities are part of the authority’s comprehensive plan to preserve infrastructure and improve the quality of the city’s road network.
Engineer Nader Zafar, Head of the 6th of October City Development Authority, affirmed that the development and maintenance works are being implemented according to a scheduled plan covering various districts and main corridors across the city.
He stressed the importance of continuous field supervision to ensure high-quality execution and completion of the projects in accordance with the highest technical standards.
The 6th of October City Development Authority also reaffirmed its commitment to continuing road and infrastructure rehabilitation projects across all sectors of the city, contributing to an improved quality of life, smoother traffic flow, and the preservation of the city’s urban appearance.
