Engineer Nader Zaafar, Head of the 6th of October City Development Authority, inspected the progress of the Parallel Central Axis development and upgrade project, accompanied by Engineer Radi Khalil, Deputy Head of the Authority and General Supervisor of the Roads Sector.
The inspection was conducted in line with the directives of Engineer Randa El Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and Dr. Engineer Walid Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing for the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), to closely monitor ongoing projects and enhance the efficiency of road networks and major transportation corridors.
The inspection tour covered the entire length of the axis, extending from the 26th of July axis to the end of the industrial zone, to assess construction progress and ensure compliance with approved technical specifications and scheduled timelines.
During the tour, the City Authority Head reviewed asphalt paving works near the Monorail Station in the Al-Hosary area, directing project teams to accelerate completion while maintaining the highest quality standards to improve traffic flow and enhance the efficiency of the corridor.
He also inspected landscape development works along the axis, in addition to reviewing the implementation of the irrigation network along the same route. These efforts are part of the authority’s plan to upgrade major roads and improve the city’s urban appearance, reflecting the modern image of 6th of October City.
The city authority head emphasized the continuation of regular field inspections across all ongoing projects and the prompt resolution of any obstacles that may hinder progress, ensuring completion according to the approved schedules. He noted that these efforts will contribute to strengthening infrastructure and improving the quality of services provided to residents of 6th of October City.
He further stated that the development of the Parallel Central Axis is one of the city’s key strategic projects, designed to strengthen the road network and improve traffic movement between residential, service, and industrial areas. The project is expected to reduce travel times and enhance traffic flow throughout the city.
He also stressed the importance of full compliance with approved technical specifications throughout all stages of implementation, while intensifying construction activities and maintaining continuous coordination between the executing contractors and the supervising consultant to ensure timely completion and high-quality execution.
He added that the city authority continues implementing a comprehensive plan to upgrade major transportation corridors and infrastructure in line with the city’s ongoing urban development, providing improved services for both residents and visitors of 6th of October City.
