The presidential initiative Housing for All Egyptians is not limited to providing housing units for low-income citizens only. It has expanded its scope to include launching and implementing new middle-income and investment housing units.
The Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Support Fund announced that 27,944 middle-income and investment housing units are being implemented in 15 cities and governorates.
Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, stated during his chairing of the Board of Directors meeting of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Support Fund that approximately one million housing units have been offered under the Housing for All Egyptians presidential initiative for low-income individuals, and work on this offering is ongoing.
Green Housing Program
The Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities reported that 721,000 housing units designated for low-income citizens have been completed, while work is underway to finalize an additional 251,000 units, including 54,600 units within the Green Housing Program across nine cities, where they are being implemented and assigned in the fifth and sixth phases.
Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Support Fund, also clarified that some areas included in the Housing for All Egyptians 5 announcement will not follow the priority system after the screening phase due to the low number of applicants compared to the total available units.
