The 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority launched a large-scale evening campaign to remove encroachments and obstructions from several main roads and squares, as well as clear gatherings of waste pickers and sorting activities from green spaces in residential areas. The campaign comes as part of the Authority’s efforts to maintain order on streets and public spaces, limit random practices, and reduce sources of disturbance.
The campaign was carried out in implementation of the directives of Eng. Randa El-Menshawy, minister of housing, utilities, and urban communities, and the instructions of Dr. Walid Abbas, deputy minister of housing, utilities, and urban communities for urban communities.
It was conducted under the supervision of Eng. Alaa Abdel Latif Mostafa, Head of the 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority and Supervisor of the Hadayek 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority, as part of continuous field monitoring across the city and prompt action against practices affecting residents’ movement or the residential environment.
The campaign targeted several main roads and squares in the Sidnawy area, the Jordanian District, and the Third District, Al-Qarnfel, where encroachments and obstructions were removed from the targeted locations, helping ensure smooth traffic flow and keep roads and public spaces free of obstacles.
The campaign also extended to Neighborhoods 4, 6, and 8 in the First District, Al-Zohour, where gatherings of waste pickers and sorting activities were removed from green spaces. These practices had caused disturbance to residents in surrounding areas and negatively affected the overall appearance of residential neighborhoods.
The campaign involved the occupancy and encroachment, security, transportation, equipment, cleaning, and beautification departments of the city authority, in coordination with the utilities police. This contributed to the swift handling of encroachments and obstructions, clearing the targeted locations, and reorganizing public spaces.
Eng. Alaa Abdel Latif Mostafa emphasized that addressing encroachments and gatherings of waste pickers is not limited to removing violations but also aims to protect residents’ right to use roads and public spaces safely and in an organized manner while preventing residential areas from becoming gathering points or ongoing sources of disturbance.
The head of the 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority noted that the campaigns will continue at different times, alongside intensified field monitoring, to ensure rapid response to violations, prevent their recurrence, and maintain cleanliness and order in residential areas.
The 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority continues its field monitoring efforts across various neighborhoods and districts to detect and address encroachments and obstructions in accordance with established procedures, helping maintain smooth movement, enhance service quality, preserve the residential environment, and uphold the city’s urban appearance.
