In line with the directives of Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and as part of efforts to achieve progress, Engineer Nafisa Mahmoud Hashem, Advisor to the Minister and Supervisor of the Housing and Utilities Sector, held a meeting to discuss work mechanisms within the sector. The meeting addressed the follow-up of field visits to housing and utilities directorates across different governorates, strengthening communication with engineering departments in the cities of the New Urban Communities Authority, in addition to expediting responses to their inquiries regarding the Reconciliation Law and the legalization of building conditions.
The meeting also included discussions on preparations for the Ninth Arab Housing Conference, scheduled to be held in Cairo in 2026. The event is being organized by the ministry in cooperation with the Housing and Utilities Sector and the New Urban Communities Authority, in partnership with the National Housing and Building Research Center and the League of Arab States.

Coordination currently underway with the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics for the 2026–2027 Population Census was also reviewed. Moreover, the meeting tackled the current status of legislative amendments related to the Owners’ Union, aimed at preserving real estate assets.
During the discussions, Engineer Nafisa Mahmoud Hashem and sector leaders explored available resources and how to overcome obstacles that could affect workflow during this stage, ensuring that the ministry’s performance achieves the required standards.
The meeting was attended by Engineer Mostafa Al-Naggar, Head of the Housing and Utilities Sector, Engineer Rania Mounir, Head of the Central Administration for Housing Affairs, along with general directors of departments within the Housing and Utilities Sector.
