The district administrations in the First, Third, and Fifth Settlements of New Cairo carried out large-scale campaigns that resulted in the removal of numerous violations and the enforcement of appropriate legal measures.
As part of continuous monitoring, Engineer Abdel Raouf El-Ghaity, Head of the New Cairo City Authority, explained that in the First Settlement, under the supervision of Engineer Sayed Hassan Ibrahim, violations in rooftop rooms were removed on plots (111, 92, 29) in Al-Banafseg 10 district. In addition, columns exceeding the permitted building ratio were demolished at villa No. 149 in Al-Nakheel district, along with the removal of an unauthorized wooden structure in rooftop rooms at villa No. 274 in the same district. Demolition orders were also executed on a rooftop room at plot 219 in East Academy (2).
The measures further included sealing and removing utility meters from several units in Al-Banafseg district that had been illegally converted from residential to commercial and administrative use, as well as confiscating non-compliant equipment in Al-Yasmeen district. Moreover, campaigns were organized to monitor violations related to unlicensed car-wash activities.
In the Third Settlement, under the supervision of Engineer Tamer Gaber, Deputy Head of the Regional Authority, the efforts included the removal of random buildings (canteens) in Al-Andalous district and the immediate demolition of rooftop violations on plots (261, 528, 1 Extension of Al-Andalous 1). Excess columns were also removed from plot 69 in the Gardenia 1 project, along with violations in the side and rear setbacks on plots (177, 65 in the same project).

The campaign further included the demolition of illegal basement and ground-floor conversions into duplexes at plot 760 in Al-Andalous 2/2, and the removal of encroachments on the sidewalk in front of plot 153 in Al-Andalous 2/1. Teams also addressed rooftop violations on plots (191, 163 in the same area), removed street vendors, illegal kiosks, and unauthorized advertisements in Al-Andalous district, while confiscating equipment.
In the Fifth Settlement, led by Dr. Riham Hassan, Deputy Head of the Authority for the Fifth Settlement, numerous violations were tackled. These included the removal of excess rooftop structures at plot No. 97 (Family 3, Southern Investors District), the demolition of an illegal concrete slab in the side setback at plot No. 243 (National Defense), and unauthorized construction in the garden area of Building 3A in Al-Masraweya district.
Other actions included the removal of building ratio violations in rooftop rooms at plot No. 48 (Second District, Al-Lotus) and side setback violations at plot No. 29 in Al-Choueifat. Furthermore, the closure, sealing, and removal of the electricity meter of plot No. 244 in Al-Narges 5 were carried out due to its illegal use as a nursery and administrative activity.
Engineer Abdel Raouf El-Ghaity stressed that campaigns continue daily across all districts to confront any attempts at illegal construction or encroachments on public facilities, with the necessary legal measures taken to preserve the distinctive urban character of New Cairo.
