Minister of Housing Follows Up on Service and Infrastructure Projects in New Suez City

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, followed up on the progress of several service and infrastructure projects currently being implemented as part of the urgent phase in New Suez City. These projects include works related to electricity, water, housing, gas, telecommunications, in addition to various service buildings.

In this context, the minister emphasized that New Suez City represents one of the most promising cities thanks to its strategic location and the diversity of land uses and activities within it. He also noted that it is one of the fourth-generation cities that the ministry is working to develop.

The minister stressed the importance of continuous on-site follow-up of the ongoing projects and the need to resolve any obstacles facing implementation, while adhering to deadlines and standard specifications to ensure the quality of work.

For her part, Engineer Asmaa Makhlouf, Head of the New Suez City Development Authority, along with officials of the authority, conducted an inspection tour that included projects in the electricity sector. The tour featured a visit to the main distributor with a capacity of 29.5 MVA, which includes seven transformer rooms with a capacity of 1000 kVA each. This project contributes to improving the efficiency of the electrical network and ensuring the stability of its supply for all uses.

The tour also included monitoring the implementation of the water booster station feeding the main reservoir with a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters. Engineer Asmaa explained that this project forms an essential component of the water supply system and secures service continuity for all sectors in the city.

The tour concluded with a visit to the site of the water reservoir, which has a storage capacity of 10,000 cubic meters and has reached a 70% completion rate. The head of the authority confirmed the importance of this project in strengthening the city’s water infrastructure.

At the end of the tour, Engineer Asmaa Makhlouf stressed the authority’s commitment to implementing all projects according to the highest standards of quality and safety in line with the directives of Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny. The goal is to provide integrated services and to build a safe and sustainable urban environment that meets the needs of the city’s residents and responds to the aspirations of investors.
