In implementation of the directives of Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Engineer Amin Ghoneim, Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) for the Real Estate and Commercial Affairs Sector, held a meeting with the central unit responsible for policies regarding lands added to a number of new cities. The meeting aimed to follow up on procedures for regularizing the status of submitted applications from citizens, in the presence of NUCA leaders and heads of several city authorities.
Engineer Amin Ghoneim opened the meeting by stressing the importance of the land regularization file and emphasized the need to expedite progress. He called for studying the legal, technical, and real estate obstacles and setting solutions to ensure smooth and effective implementation.
He also highlighted the importance of establishing clear and well-studied timelines for finalizing pending files and ensuring strict adherence to them. At the same time, he underscored the necessity of strengthening coordination among different sectors to exchange perspectives, overcome challenges, and achieve integration between the concerned entities.
During the meeting, Dr. Engineer Ahmed Ismail Gaber, Head of the New Obour City Authority, presented a detailed report on the completion rates in reviewing citizens’ applications and the targeted procedures to finalize them in the coming period. His intervention included an overview of the completed and ongoing projects such as water, sewage, and road networks. He also reviewed the key technical and legal challenges facing the work and suggested appropriate solutions, stressing the importance of considering the social dimension and safeguarding the rights of small landowners.

City authority heads from different regions also presented their views on the current situation in their areas, including challenges and proposals that align with the directives of the Minister of Housing. Several new mechanisms and regulations for dealing with the upcoming period were discussed.
The meeting concluded by stressing the necessity of setting clear programs and timelines that correspond with the volume of submitted applications, and monitoring their implementation periodically across all new cities. It was also confirmed that specialized working teams would be assigned to remove any obstacles hindering ongoing projects and to intensify efforts for swift completion in line with the defined schedules. The ultimate goal is to serve the public interest and meet citizens’ needs as quickly as possible.
The meeting was attended by a group of prominent NUCA leaders, including Engineer Kamal Bahgat, Vice President of NUCA for Development and Construction, and Engineer Ahmed Omran, Vice President of NUCA for Utilities, Station, and Network Maintenance. Also present were several officials, assistants, and deputies from different sectors, along with the heads and representatives of the cities of El Shorouk, New Sphinx, Sheikh Zayed, 6th of October, New October, New Port Said, West Port Said, New Alamein, and New Damietta, in addition to other senior sector leaders.
