Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, chaired the first meeting of the committee formed under Prime Ministerial Decree No. 2484 of 2025. The committee was established to oversee the allocation of housing units for employees relocating to work in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting was attended by several ministry officials and representatives of the entities participating in the committee.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny praised the recent efforts made by all concerned parties to secure housing units for the relocating employees. He emphasized the government’s strong commitment to facilitating the transition of these cadres in line with the directives of the political leadership.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the decree issued by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly establishing the committee under the chairmanship of the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities. The meeting also outlined the tasks and responsibilities assigned to committee members and representatives of the different entities. The Minister explained that a technical secretariat will be formed to study proposed decisions before submitting them to the main committee.

The meeting further discussed the current status of available housing units, including those in the Third Residential District of the New Administrative Capital and the Zahra Al-Asima project in Badr City. Proposals were also presented regarding allocation mechanisms and prioritization of eligible employees according to the numbers approved for relocation to the capital.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny directed the need for coordination with all relevant ministries and agencies to obtain the necessary data on employees relocating to the New Administrative Capital. He stressed the importance of conducting a comprehensive survey to ensure accurate and well-organized allocation of housing units to rightful beneficiaries.
