Engineer Sherif El-Shorbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held a meeting with representatives of the companies implementing the Fustat Hills Gardens Project in the Old Cairo area to review work progress and the latest project updates. The meeting was also attended by officials from the ministry and the Central Agency for Reconstruction.
During the meeting, the minister stressed the importance of adhering to the set timetable for completing the project, highlighting the need for coordination to ensure the provision of necessary resources and the completion of works in line with approved plans. He also instructed the preparation of daily reports to assess the execution status and address any challenges that may hinder progress.
The minister expressed his full support for the project team, affirming his commitment to taking all necessary measures to ensure the project’s completion within the specified timeframes.
In the course of the meeting, the minister reviewed the latest developments in the project’s components, which span 500 feddans and include investment zones, the river area, the adventure area, the heritage area, and the hills, in addition to green spaces and various facilities. Company representatives provided a detailed briefing on the progress made in these zones and presented proposals to overcome any obstacles.
The Fustat Hills Gardens Project is one of the largest parks in the Middle East, designed to revive and showcase Egyptian heritage across eras — from the Pharaonic, Coptic, and Islamic periods to modern times. The project will feature a diverse range of cultural and commercial activities, hotel services, open-air theaters, an archaeological excavation area, and heritage gardens that reflect the rich history of the region.
