Head of Sheikh Zayed City Authority Inspects Ongoing Projects in City Expansions and Main Sewage Pumping Station

Eng. Marwa Hussein Amin, Head of the Sheikh Zayed City Development Authority, conducted an inspection tour of the ongoing development projects currently underway in the city’s expansion area known as “New Zayed,” governed by Republican Decree No. 77. The tour was carried out in line with directives from Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, who places great importance on continuous field follow-up of developmental projects in new urban cities.

The inspection included a visit to the entrance of the area covered by Republican Decree No. 77 via the Dahshour Link Road, where work is in progress on constructing a main road network to connect the area with the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road and El-Dabaa Corridor. This project is part of a comprehensive plan to link surrounding national projects through a modern internal road network across the lands governed by the presidential decree.

Eng. Marwa Hussein also inspected the progress of the water lifting station and a 36,000 cubic meter capacity reservoir. She reviewed infrastructure development projects, which include the implementation of sewage networks totaling 113,000 meters in length with pipe diameters ranging from 200 mm to 1400 mm, a potable water network stretching 88,000 meters with diameters from 160 mm to 1200 mm, and an irrigation network extending 90,000 meters with diameters ranging from 160 mm to 800 mm.

She emphasized the importance of maintaining current work rates and stressed the need to provide protective measures for workers against high temperatures, as well as ensuring sufficient rest breaks during peak heat periods to safeguard their well-being and enhance work efficiency.
