Engineer Sherif El-Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and Major General Tarek Marzouk, Governor of Dakahlia, inspected the drinking water station in the city of Nabrouh, Dakahlia Governorate, accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Housing and the governorate. This visit comes as part of the state’s efforts to strengthen infrastructure projects and enhance the quality of essential services provided to citizens.
The Minister and the Governor toured the site of the Nabrouh Water Station, which has a capacity of 34,000 cubic meters per day. The station aims to improve service quality and meet the increasing demand for drinking water. Approximately 35,000 residents of Nabrouh and neighboring villages benefit from the station. The facility includes several components such as the intake, raw water well, pump chamber, Dynasand purification unit, underground reservoir, filtered water well, and pump chamber. The infrastructure also features a backwash basin, sludge concentration units, drying beds, and multiple buildings including the chlorine and chemical building, air compressors, transformers, generators, administration, laboratory, control room, storage, workshop, and general site facilities.
During the tour, the Minister and the Governor listened to a detailed explanation of the station’s expansions and the current progress of construction work. They also reviewed the stages of water purification and instructed relevant authorities to expedite the completion of the remaining works and finalize site landscaping to ensure the station operates efficiently.
The inspection was attended by representatives of key stakeholders in the water and wastewater sector, including the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater, the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation, the regulatory body for these services, the local water and sanitation company, and the project’s contracting companies.
