Following the directives of Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and as part of the preliminary operational plan for the towers of the Central Business District (CBD) in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital, Civil Protection teams have carried out a comprehensive simulation of a fire scenario within administrative towers CO, CO6, and C12. The exercise aimed to evaluate the performance of fire protection systems and the efficiency of safety equipment in these key buildings.
The simulation involved verifying the functionality of smoke extraction systems, activating fire alarms, checking the safety and accessibility of emergency escape routes, and testing the operation of pumps and associated safety systems. The exercise also assessed the buildings’ readiness for utility connections and their transition to full operational status.
Civil Defense teams are working to ensure that all towers comply with international safety and fire prevention standards. So far, six administrative towers have been inspected as part of the initial handover phase, and coordination is ongoing to inspect the remaining administrative and residential towers according to the set timeline for building activation.
