Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, followed up on the ongoing development of the industrial wastewater management system and the upgrading of industrial zones in the city of 10th of Ramadan. These projects include the construction of an industrial wastewater treatment plant, lift stations, and discharge lines, in addition to the development and extension of road networks and infrastructure within the industrial zones. This progress is based on detailed reports and field inspections.
The Minister explained that these initiatives are part of the state’s broader direction to enhance the readiness of industrial zones and develop their infrastructure in line with the highest technical and environmental standards. The aim is to improve the efficiency of the industrial wastewater system in accordance with modern environmental requirements, support industrial expansion, and reinforce the state’s efforts to establish a sustainable urban and investment environment. He emphasized the importance of accelerating the pace of ongoing projects, adhering to standard design and technical criteria, ensuring timely project delivery, and maintaining continuous oversight to address any emerging challenges.
In a related development, Engineer Alaa Abdel-Latif Mostafa, Head of the 10th of Ramadan City Development Authority, conducted an inspection tour of the ongoing work at the new industrial wastewater treatment plant. This plant is one of the city’s key infrastructure projects aimed at supporting its rapid industrial growth. The plant is designed with a civil works capacity of 130,000 cubic meters per day and an electromechanical capacity of 65,000 cubic meters per day in its first phase. This greatly enhances the city’s ability to accommodate future industrial discharges.
During his tour, the Head of the Authority continued monitoring a comprehensive range of projects, including the construction of a new screening building, installation of two 1400 mm diameter discharge pipelines, creation of two anaerobic basins, reinforcement of the embankments around Oxidation Pond No. 3, and the development and deepening of the third anaerobic pond. He also reviewed the installation of GRP pipes in an open channel for transporting treated water, along with the implementation of concrete manholes as part of the overall development efforts.
In the same context, Engineer Alaa Abdel-Latif Mostafa inspected the efficiency enhancement works in Industrial Zone A2 and site landscaping in Industrial Zone A5. Additionally, he reviewed the implementation of infrastructure services (water, sewage, and road grading) in the area between Zones A2 and A5. These efforts are part of a comprehensive plan to improve service quality, create an attractive environment for industrial investment, and boost production activity.
During his tour, the Head of the Authority stressed the importance of adhering to project timelines and ensuring execution quality in accordance with approved technical specifications. He confirmed that all projects are subject to on-site monitoring to ensure rapid completion and the achievement of optimal operational efficiency.
