Minister of Housing Stresses the Need to Expedite Land Regularization Process

During his inspection tour today, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, chaired a meeting at the headquarters of the 6th of October City Authority to review the ongoing work across various sectors in 6th of October City, New October, Hadayek October, Sheikh Zayed, and New Sphinx. The meeting focused on evaluating the current developmental projects in those cities, with the participation of officials from the Ministry of Housing, the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), and the executive heads of the respective cities’ authorities.

At the beginning of the meeting, the minister emphasized the urgent need to finalize the land status regularization files for areas added to Sheikh Zayed, 6th of October, and New Sphinx cities. He explained that this step is essential to safeguard resources, align citizen land use with legal frameworks, and realize the vision of creating better planned and integrated urban communities.

Regarding utilities and essential services, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny underlined the importance of enhancing the quality of services provided to residents. He directed that work be intensified to review safety systems—such as alarm and fire systems—in vital buildings and at water and electricity stations to ensure their safety, with regular monitoring to be carried out in this regard.

On the topic of road maintenance, the minister stressed the importance of efficient and continuous execution. He pointed out the need to coordinate with traffic authorities and relevant bodies to implement safe traffic diversions that ensure smooth traffic flow during maintenance works.

During the meeting, the minister reviewed the status of land plots facing major roads and key transportation routes in 6th of October City, as well as the operation and maintenance systems for water and sewage treatment stations and projects intended to support the city’s urban expansion. He also discussed the ongoing electricity and road network works, including both maintenance and upgrades, in addition to agricultural and economic development projects in the city.

As for the expansion of Sheikh Zayed City, the minister followed up on the development of utility network projects, directing the implementation of the highest levels of operational efficiency. In Hadayek October, he reviewed the status of ongoing projects, including social housing, while also examining the regularization of land plots in New Sphinx City.

The inspection tour reflected the ministry’s commitment to evaluating the performance of urban development projects and managing resources wisely in ways that advance development goals and meet the aspirations of residents in these new urban communities.
