In line with the directives of Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and New Urban Communities, the 6th of October City Development Authority continues implementing a comprehensive plan aimed at upgrading and beautifying the city, as well as enhancing the efficiency of service areas.
Recently, the development works in the second sector (northern) were completed. These works included the upgrading of the Northern Tourist Areas 1, 2, and 3, as well as the service corridor between Northern Tourist Area 3 and Gardenia El Shams. The development also extended to the Janna Axis and the Gamal Abdel Nasser entrance leading to Northern Tourist Area 3.
These efforts come as part of the Authority’s continuous commitment to elevating the urban landscape, promoting a healthy and safe environment for residents, preserving the city’s unique architectural identity, and adding aesthetic value to highlight its various features.
As part of these initiatives, large-scale campaigns were carried out to remove substantial amounts of waste and debris that had previously marred the general appearance of public spaces. These cleared sites were transformed into green spaces with thoughtfully designed landscaping, contributing to a cleaner and more attractive urban environment.
The landscaping works included planting a wide range of vegetation, such as Paspalum grass, Cycas palms, and Royal palms. Other decorative plants included Euphorbia milii, Duranta lemon, and Variegated Duranta. The design also incorporated colorful Hibiscus plants, Aroeupis, Bougainvillea, various succulents, and trees such as Areca, Sterculia, Cassia glauca, Jacaranda, Tecoma, and Poinciana. Together, these plants create a harmonious and visually appealing addition to the city’s urban fabric.
