Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund, announced that, for the first time, environmentally friendly green housing units will be offered. These units are approximately 1.5 square meters larger than traditional units. She pointed out that the price of a green unit is higher than that of its conventional counterpart.
During a phone interview on MBC Masr, Mai added that one of the advantages of these units is that they are built with thicker bricks, which provides greater comfort and helps reduce energy consumption.
She also stated that there are 13,000 housing units ready for delivery across various governorates. In addition, 90,000 housing units have been allocated to eligible applicants from the previous phase of the “Housing for All Egyptians 5” project.
These individuals will be given priority in reservations, and no new applicants will be allowed to register for these specific units. However, new applicants will have the opportunity to apply for 23,000 housing units in locations that are being offered for the first time.
